Good day
I finally got my first XJ and want to put a lift on it so I can use a set of BFG AT 33x9.5r15 tires I have sitting around. Since this is my first Jeep I have no Idea what mods I will have to do to make this happen. I have lifted several trucks over the years but never a Jeep. What is a good brand of lift to get and how much will I need for the tires to clear. I am not going to be doing any serious offroading with this jeep it is my daily driver so I do need to keep it functional. My main reason for lifting it is so I have more clearance when winter rolls around and when I am driving on old logging roads that are washed out.

5" lift should be good without trimming. Most brands will cost between $2000 - 800. Some have more things that are important. Most will probably be long arms too. Most popular here is Rough Country, Sky Jacker, Rubicon Express, Pro Comp, BDS, Iron Rock Offroad, etc etc

You can fit 33"s with a 4.5 or 5" lift. Ïf you dont ever plan on really flexing the thing than you wont have to worry about it. Especially because you have pretty skinny tires. But if you were gonna flex it out and offroad it then you better go with a 6" lift. If you got the money make sure you go with a full leaf spring not a add a leaf. Also if you want the stock riding feel, go with a long arm kit!

RC is a good kit. You may need bumpstops if you flex on those trails IMO...Tj
