How much Herculiner and POR-15 to use?
I've got the carpet pulled out (still need to do the cargo area) and the seats out and cleaned. Weather permitting, I want to get replacement sheet metal in (holes in all 4 parts of the front...driver's rear is mostly OK, rest need major work) in the next couple of weekends.
How much POR-15 to paint the interior with a couple of coats?
Then Herculiner over it...how much of that?
Do I need multiple coats of each? I will likely get carpet to put in place later on...just want to get it on the road (i.e..inspected!).
Should I consider something else (other than POR or Hercu.) for eventual use for Carpet?
Thanks!

Use the POR for the underneath and then use the herc on the inside. Its suggested to put one coat of herc on with the brush and then put a second coat on with the roller.
My brother lives near a metal supplier (he's getting the sheet metal).
I had planned on:
Cutting paper to fit the body pans (templates).
Cutting the sheet metal.
Checking fit.
Paint underside of metal with POR (and having painted the sanded areas and cut out areas of the original pans with POR).
Pop Rivet (I'm not a good enough welder to trust not burning through) down.
Paint again any visible areas (from underneath primarily).
Then...
Don't paint the top of the metal with POR?
And, finally...both of the coatings (POR and Herc.) are fairly expensive. Wanted to be sure I get enough without getting wayyyyy too much (don't have any other use for it now), so if anyone knows how much is 'safe' to get (enough to do a good job, some loss and not have much left over).
Thanks!

If you are putting the herc on the inside there is no reason to use por inside also. The herc is a rust inhibitor also. Just make sure you prep the surface good for the hurc. POR you can throw on right over rusted areas just scrape off the big flakes before hand.
KBS coatings is just like POR-15 but their kits are a little better. Comes with spray bottles and gloves and stuff. I used their normal stuff on the floorboard of my Scout and it laid on nice and is tough as nails. It's also a little cheaper than POR and it's made in Indiana...which may or may not affect your decision.
I would use POR all around. It lays out pretty well (no brush marks). I used a pint on my '79 camaro's chasis, firewall and radiator support (2 coats). Cant even tell it was POR after it dries. Use that stuff sparingly because it dries quick!! I would pour 1/4 into a red dixie cup and have at it. Made the mistake of taking a break then when I came back the 3 cups was wasted. Oh you will need lots of brushes.
You mentioned pop riveting your patch panels. Use seam sealer around those panels. You're going to take in water if you go deep enough.
