how to measure a lift?

Look for a manufacturers name on the components. Also maybe part numbers will help you figure it out. There no way to measure exactly because every xj sits differently. But if you find the maker of your lift then find out what they offered.

There is a well known accepted way if you're still running stock flares. Measure from the center of the hub to the bottom of the stock flares. They should measure 17" & 21" when stock, can't remember which is front, or which is rear. Subtract that from any higher resulting number you measure, & that's the height of your lift.
There is a different way to measure without the stock flares or if your fenders are trimmed, but I'll need to determine the stock values first and it's late now. I can do that tomorrow.
