They are needed in hardcore but I doubt the usefullness in a DD. Hopefully you can drive and have a good spotter. Then you may never need one, but I agree that there is no substitute when you are upside down.

Anyone know the rep of this company that is makeing these cages? If they have a good or bad rep for quality of their products, delivery and ease of installation? If they would like to show us some kind of courtesy by way of sponsorship. We have a couple of Virginia members that may like to take a tour of their facility to see if they are on the up and up.

The 325.00 cages are made of .095 HREW, that's about the equivalent of a metal fence post, a cage should be at least .120 wall. Save your money and do it right.
They sell "24 Hrs of 'Lemons'" cages. That's alot of lemons! I wonder why lemons need cages?

Yep if you are going to do a cage do it right as if not you will regret it in the end..I figure once mine becomes a toy it'll get a nice 5"+ long arm kit, unibody frame support, and a nice solid cage...Probably will lose the doors as well..

.095 is plenty strong "IF" it is triangulate right. But that's a big IF.. You have to remember most cages are to safe you life not save the rig... And when you figure most of us are more likely to "Flop" than to truly roll than .095 wall is just fine..
Just for a ref point stock factory TJ (Wrangler) sport bars are only like .075 think and I've seen them live through a trail flop with no problem.
