I'm sure he did but I hate seeing a Jeep of any kind from that angle unless it is on a lift.
If that is an aftermarket cage I bet it was triangulated as Nick pointed out.

ive watched 2 stock tj cages take full rolls without much issue. its less the actual material you use and more the design you make out of it (within obvious reason)
a properly designed HREW cage is gonna hold up the same as a DOM cage, it isnt like DOM is some magical substance. Its more about longevity (i.e. how many rolls can the truck take over the course of the cages life before you need to re-do the cage). Also take into account this isnt desert racing, this is all slow speed stuff. If i had a race truck id want no less than a chromo or DOM jungle gym in my vehicle.
There is even some truth to schedule40 being used effectively for cages. (both exo and roll) Plenty of first hand experience out there, just have to read about it and find people who have actually done it instead of those who are just repeating something to sound knowledgeable.
