I'd say you read it wrong. Depending on year, you should see something like 39-60psig (with the regulator disconnected, on earlier models.)

145psig is just too wacky... What gage did you use?

I used this gauge.. I think, it is the same brand, but I swear there was a 1 in front of those numbers.. maybe it was only 45, not 145, unless the kid gave me the wrong gauge..

And all i did was hook it up and turn the key.. sounds like there is more to it then that and I'm going to have to keep digging.

Looks typical - the outer scale is SAE, and the inner scale is ISO. You may have been reading the wrong scale.

You can hook it up and just turn the key (which will check the "deadhead" pressure,) or leave the gage connected and start the engine (and check "operating" pressure.)

Either way, you may want to recheck your pressure readings, since I'm almost certain you were reading the wrong scale. Since it's so easy to check fuel pressure, there's no harm in doing it again, right?

OK, just got another gauge.. here are the readings..

key turned on, 45 PSI..
idling, needle fluctuates wildly between 45-55
part to mid throttle, 46 (not a 5 PSI increase like the book states)

now, the wild fluctuation at idle is obviously the rough running misfiring, but what does that tell me? I did order a new pickup screen, but maybe I do have a part clogged injector? (They all spec at 12.0 ohms) which would make the fuel pressure fluctuate like that, perhaps one of them has a blockage and because of the blockage, I am getting an erratic reading at idle? But why do I have a smooth reading at part throttle?

No, the fluctuations is the injectors opening and closing.

Pull your injectors and soak them in Sea-Foam for 24 hors.

As the injectors are opened and closed more quickly, fluctuations will drop. The "wild fluctuation" at idle is because the injector openings are (relatively) widely-spaced, while the pressure reading will smooth out as you approach WOT (because the injector openings get closer and closer together. This causes the pressure spikes to get closer and closer together, effectively "evening out" as you get closer to WOT.) The upticks are the injectors pintles slamming shut, causing a slight "deadhead backup" in the fuel rail until the fuel pressure regulator can compensate. (Whether it's on the rail or in the tank, you must have a fuel pressure regulator for fuel injection. Significant changes in fuel delivery pressure will result in changes in fuel delivery volume directly proportional to the pressure change - supply pressure goes up, volume goes up; supply pressure goes down, volume goes down. You can find the formula online with a little looking - Marren Fuel Injection and MSD probably have it on their sites.)

well this rough idle/intermittent stalling under light acceleration, is really really frustrating.. if it's not the fuel pressure, and it's not the injectors, plugs, cap, rotor, icm, cps, or tps.. what the hell could it be!!

Even after switching the injectors around, I still got a cyl 1 misfire and random misfire codes.. coil possibly? Why don't I have any issues under WOT? it's only idle and light throttle that are giving me the problems.. I want to bang my head.. but I already did.. can you feel my frustration?
