I paid $800 for mine which imo was a good price for a running vehicle with just a few little issues. I've put maybe $500 in repairs into it plus the usual stuff like tires, brakes, tune up and alignment. I'll say all together I've spent around $1,800-2,000 getting it to where it is today. Not bad considering Wranglers around here cost around 5k+ for 200k miles. About the only thing else I have to do is the axle shaft u-joint and some new shocks all around O and charge the A/C system and flush the heater core. Financially it was stupid as heck to buy this thing but everytime I drive it I have a smile on my face so that's all that matters.

98 XJ Classic
295,432 miles. Put a Jasper motor in at 260,000 miles.
Update March 5, 2019: 311,000 miles. Passed inspection. The Dana 30 housing is bad deep rust. Have to replace front axle soon. Liquid brine.

Blue 99 4 dr has 35k ( Bought yrs ago from a dealer in CO)
Orange 01 2 dr has 112k (Came from a suburb of Seattle)
Green 99 SE 5 spd has 85k ( From Park service in Yosemite Nat Park)
I've had many over the years and have always enjoyed them. I've kept them stock and only had 3 tows, 2 due to the plastic camshaft syncros and one with the head problem.

I check in on this thread every so often... and seeing miles like these... and with my '99 only having 99k on it, hoping I can get that much life out of it, if I can keep working the annoying kinks out of it. lol.
