Default how hot does the brake caliper housing get

im talking about the the bracket thing that the caliper mounts to. i am changing calipers and i cleaned the bracket up and was wondering do i need special paint to withstand the heat or would just regular rattle can paint work since i have a few cans laying around

The caliper itself can get pretty darn hot. I don't know if I'd use regular paint on it. I know they make paint specifically for painting a caliper. I'd probably use either that or some engine paint.

thanks i think i might just put a little grease or oil on it to keep it from rusting

just get a can of high heat paint or caliper paint same thing basically

Duplicolor makes a nice caliper paint that you can get and works pretty well.. I painted mine black.
