Default How flamable is Transmission fluid?

I can't get my dipstick tube off trans pan to pull it . If I cut the tube with a grinder will it ignite the fluid ? Tried a pipe cutter with no luck.... Thanks

No promises here, but I would assume its the same flammability as oil or diesel, i.e. not flammable at room temp and pressure. Just do it when it isn't hot and you should be good.

I'd use caution here if this is the only way you can remove, or shorten, the tube to remove the tranny. Transmission fluid is combustible, not flammable. This simply means that the temperature that is needed to ignite the fluid is significantly higher than one that is flammable such as gasoline. Still, a grinder will create temperatures high enough to ignite combustible fluids. I'd make sure to have a hose close by, better a fire extinguisher. I've caused small fires under cars myself grinding and torching, which is not difficult at all, and you have to be ready when they occur.

If it was me - I'd use the grinder but use caution - in other words have a fire extinguisher close by. You could probably cut through it in a few seconds with the grinder, so it's not likely to generate enough heat to heat the fuid to ignition point.
Let us know how it goes.
