How to fix a wind window lock (pics.)
BOTH of my wind window locks came off while driving. so all the pieces are gone.
So instead of spending 140$ to get both fixed (or going to the junk yard to scrounge some up.) i went to the local hardware store.
Approximate cost: $3.80
Amount saved: $133
Its not pretty. but it doesn't have to be.

DeluxeCrusader,
Looks good, the only change that I would have made is using a nylok nut so it did not vibrate off in the future, but hind sight is 20-20. Good quick fix!
Does it still open or is it permanently closed?

It still opens, you just have to twist the cam lock, and push the window.
it is a little harder to close, but i can deal with it, seeing how much cheaper it is.
It actually doesnt vibrate, even at highway speeds.
It needs to be really tight, to prevent someone breaking in, but loose enough to be able to open from the inside, which is why there are regular washers on the inside, and rubber washers on the outside, that, and to prevent the window from cracking.
You also want to use the carriage bolt, or something similar, so it cannot be taken apart from the outside.
