Default How to find out backspacing...

I bought this jeep and Im unsure on how to find the backspacing so I can buy another rim to mount a spare tire on.

Stock XJ back spsce is 5.25". To measure a wheels back space, lay the wheel face down, place a straight edge across the wheel rim (not tire) and measure from the hub mounting surface of the wheel up to the straight edge. The pic above shows a deep dish (front) wheel which also means it has a shallow/short back space. The stock XJ wheel is just the opposite....deep back space and shallow dish (front).
