I was messing with someone else's XJ yesterday and then my own today and after a trip to the junkyard I am wondering what the average length everyones throttle cable is adjusted out. The Haynes manual says to press down the button and push the plastic conduit (Yellow arrow pointing at it in photo) back up into the cable fully then rotate the throttle body lever to the wide open position and the cable will automatically ratchet out to the correct position. When I do that mine only comes out a half inch. The guys yesterday came out 1.5"s. So I'm wondering if there seems to be an "average" postition these things go out to. Most of the ones in the junkyard seemed out a lot farther than mine.
