Default How on earth to replace rear door lock actuator on a 95??

Hey all - I believe the design for all 84-95s are the same for door lock actuators. I can find plenty of guides for 97-01 but nothing for my 95; I've got a replacement actuator but I'm sitting here looking at it and the old one still in the door and can't figure even how to get the old one out. I looks like it may be held in by two screws from the inside?? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's dealt with this - any good ideas how to replace this thing?

Sure appreciate any help!

The one you have is simple just open up the door panel and look in side and you will see it and just drill out the rivet and remove the arm and install the new one

OK, well that's good news!! I see the rivets - you're saying I can just drill them out?? Sorry to be so dense, but do I use a drill bit as small as the inside little part of the rivet? There are several long pins in the box with the new one...do they somehow replace the old rivets?

Sure appreciate the reply!!

Ideally, you want a drill bit slightly larger than the shank of the rivet. You don't drill all the way through, just enough to pop the head off. If unsure, use one about the size of the rivet head. Make sure you're centered on the rivet,

When I did a couple in my '88, the lock actuators came with clips nuts and short bolts. Yours may have come with pop rivets.

It worked - many thanks! Seems simple enough now, but before doing it it was a head-scratcher. There's not a ton of room for fat ham fists in there to get the connector off and on again, that's for sure!
