How do you "trim" fenders??
How do you trim fenders if needed for clearance?? REmove the flares and trim?? Jig saw or Sawz all?? I'm putting 31 X 10.50 mud tires on my 99 XJ right now its stock with sagging leaft springs (but I have air shocks) I might lift it 2" as well......Just a matter of $$ I'm getting a great deal on the tires, can I put them on/use them untill I can afford the lift??

my tool of choice for trimming is the electric angle grinder i wouldnt recomend the sawzall at all if you have to use a jigsaw in the rear you will want to do the cut and fold method just search and you will find tons of threads on it as for the front decide where you want to cut mark it out and cut away i wouldnt put the tires on b4 you trim you can do without the lift but you will have to trim also dont plan on flexing much with out lift off road they will rub even with trimming good luck if you need more info just post up but try searching first in the future this topic has been covered hundreds of times

the first time i trimmed, i used a jig saw. not bad.
second time i used a sawzall, again, not bad, did the job.
then i used a 5 inch grinder with thin cutting disk. worked great. tough to keep it under control at first tho.
then i just covered the cut metal with door edge trim.
so far, so good.

That's a good site I wish I wouldn't known that site when I trimmed my front fenders lol. Go with a 6.5" Rough Country and trim the front just a bit and you'll get a lot of flex and you can go big with tires
