My XJ didn't come with one when I bought it. Did some come from the factory without a rear sway bar? The PO and original owner is a family friend and I'm fairly confident he never removed it himself.

Sorry....... I believe the nuts you have to take off are a socket size 15 for the front frame bolts and a 18 off the sway bar linkage. for the back its a 15 on the frame and i don't remember the size for the bracket on the leaf springs... Pretty easy.

honestly man if you dont know how to do that then you shouldnt be doing any "flexing" with a stock ride height jeep. and i doubt you wanna put your swaybar back on everytime your done wheeling. unless you just leave it off and you will soon find your fipping your jeep with slightest sudden movement at highway speeds. just sayin.

yeah flex is good but you have to have clearance to flex and if you really want to and this is a loaded topic but IMO off the rear and if you really want to buy quick discos for the front

X2 I took the front sway bar off because the bolts on top of the links were bent and haven't replaced them yet but the body roll is not that bad. You shouldn't be taking turns going 80 with or without sway bars to begin with on any lifted vechicle.

OK i keep seeing this thread and alot of people take the sway bars right off, good for them...i am the owner operator of a small performance shop and all i have to say is "NO SWAY BAR CLUB MEMBERS" remember we are trying to help guys out that are novice wrenches or weekend warriors and aren't aware of the affects of anti sway bars, many of which are young kids trying to learn.. SWAY BARS ARE THERE FOR A REASON...STOP SAYING THEY DON'T AFFECT THE HANDLING THAT MUCH!!!!!removal of sway bars makes the jeep handle like it's got 4 flat tires...guys, take into consideration who you are talking too he states he is a 17yr old kid.....

Just kidding. Just take out the bolts.
