On my old vehicle I made some white led light that was not the right number and with alittle aluminum foil bam the worked

I just wrapped the wire around my connections and it works fine

The smd/led bulbs are very bright. I run them in my jeep. Very easy to hook up as well.
What I did to mine is remove the cheap press in spring retainer and cut it off, then made the wires from the led dome light connect into the wire that goes directly to the old dome light. Hard to explain but very easy to see when working in first person on it.

Remember to be careful taking out the old bulb, it'll take about 1-2 foot pounds of torque to get it out. It's impossible to measure this with your fingers, just know that it's about the same amount of force as it would take to yank a peanut out of a Snickers bar.

When I removed mine, I pulled too hard, the bulb snapped in my fingers and map light shrapnel shot in my eye and I had to flush out all the glass with the garden hose.

OK, that didn't really happen, but it COULD have happened, the important thing is don't grip the bulb too hard or it will shatter all over your interior and maybe cut your finger.
