Default how to disable automatic headlights

I have tried to search but I cant find anything. The thread I had i didnt keen but I need to figure out how to disable the feature. 00 Xj Thanks!

edit - also this isnt the DRL feature but the feature that when you turn off the XJ the headlights stay on for a minute or 2 and then turn off. Messing with my hid conversion.

On both of my Jeeps, the "Auto" function is clearly labeled on the switch and easy to disable by simply moving the lever. Are you sure you're not talking about "Daytime Running Lamps"?

Might be a relay marked DRL in the under hood fuse box, pull it out, but make sure you still have headlamps when switched on.

ya well on my XJ there is just the plunger you pull back once for fogs and twice for headlights. So no auto slider etc

There is a really simple and cheap way to do this...turn the lights off before the jeep...lol I am sure there is a way to disable it I just dont know it. There are a few guys on here with hids find one and ask what they did. You may not have DRL but that doesnt mean US doesnt have them because my 99 has them.

Now granted, this link is talking about the WJ, (what do you have?), but it might be similar for yours if different. http://www.wjjeeps.com/lamps/headlamps.htm#DRL

It would help us if people would fill in the "Details" section and their Profile so we can better answer their questions without guessing what kind & year of Jeep they are talking about.

You should fill in the details about your Jeep, that will eliminate these questions.

I'll send you a Private Message. Hope it will be helpful.

PM sent.

The "Details" I am referring to are shown under everyone's Avatar. If you click the little box it opens and tells us what you've got for a Jeep and the equipment, if any, that you've added.
