How to determine interior colors.
Been working on my 92 xj. Kinda looking into working on the interior. i need to gut pretty much everything except the dash. Im needing to replace the headliner, do something with plastic pieces and I'm hoping i can just remove the carpet to shampoo, pressure wash it and then reinstall it. While im finding alot of useful how to videos to actually do them. Im finding nothing to match colors correctly to replace the headliner and if I end up needing to replace the plastic or carpet pieces aswell. I want to retain factory colors. Ive found my body tag but I'm not able to figure it out to get exact color matches. Any ideas?

Could try getting a build sheet for it. I dont remember where to get it exactly, but I found it using the search function. If I remember correctly it tells the colors.

may or may not work for you. A lot of XJ pre-98 didnt get the build sheets added to the directory or something like that. I got lucky with my 96 being in there.

If the build sheet link does not work go here:
https://xjjeeps.com/
Download the parts catalog for your Jeep.
Look at interior parts. Will give what Jeep called the colors that came in that year.
Probably 2. Maybe 3.
Thinking you should have no problem figuring out which is yours.
Of course what you can do with that info is a whole different thing. LOL.

Not sure what color you've got, but for my headliner I got a roll of headliner fabric that is pretty close to my grey interior at Joann Fabrics for like $20.

I got the build sheet but it was less than helpful. Didnt say anything about colors. Also according to it I should have 2 730amp batteries. So im placing little stock in how accurate that build sheet is.

And I went digging through the parts catalog on xjjeeps.com for my year model and it shows pretty much the same thing and how to interpret the label so you know what color you have. for the 94-96 catalog it was within the first part of the book basically, so it was easy for my application.
I believe page 977 will help you here.

The pages aren't numbered in the book, but hopefully you can search for pages.... If your computer/phone savvy. My computer here at work pulled it up as a .pdf file and when I move the mouse to the top of the catalog page, the pages numbers show up from adobe or whatever this software is.
I dont know if it actually gives you the trim code color, but there is a picture of the label on your jeep that shows where you should look to find your trim code.
