XJ has bad gas... doesn't run because of it... need help asap!

 

Siphon the fuel tank and open the schrader valve on the fuel rail, and bleed it out that way?

Why do you say it's bad gas?

 

this guy i knew who's a mechanic came by yesterday to look at it. that's what he said it was..

Curious about this also. I hear alot of "mecanics" say "its just bad gas". I have been working as a mechanic for almost 10 years, and only once have I seen a vehical with bad gas not start, it ran fine, they filled up, and it wouldnt start, not even at the pump.

 

curious about this mechanic....as long and its not 50 yrs old and the fuel filter isnt clogged then it should run at least, it might run like crap but as long as it still has some type of flammability it should still run, just my opinion though

 

I know my lawn mower wouldn't start from last years gas. Gas looked nasty too. Like beer almost.

 

I mean, it could be a fuel pump too... but they cost 50 bucks on ebay and i'm dropping the gas tanks anyway so i may as well replace that too.
