Default Door Panel for early xj

My door panels have seen better days, but I haven't found any decent used ones much better. I have a 92 xj, how new of panels can I put on? Will 99-00 panels still fit?

For size they will fit. But the holes will not match up.

Edit: I recently re-did mine on the driver door because I couldn't find a matching panel for a tan Limited. Not too hard, came out perfect.

I have a decent set out of a '91, they're maroon in color, I'll make you a good deal if you can use them

Can you explain a little better? I just purchased one, and the door panels are not to bad but wondered if newer ones will work. How much work was it to make them fit?
Thanks

No, no, I meant I re-did (re-upholstered) my own driver side panel. The problem with mine was that the backing was toast. It got wet & turned soft. So I bought backing from an auto upholstery place for $18, ripped my leather off, used the old backing as a template & re-covered it. Came out perfect. I have pics from start to finish but I have yet to host them.

Can't remember the design of the newer doors, but I remember thinking that it waasn't going to work. Just use yours as a template & start cutting ... it might work - but I doubt it.
