If its a serious vehicle that you plan on keeping for a long time, a killswitch would be a good investment. No one would know how to start it except you.
My old mustang had a killswitch where you would have to hold the "Window Up" switch while turning the key to get it to start.
If its just a beater, disconnect the battery, and just reconnect it when you go to drive it.
Either way, you could just not give her the keys? its not that hard

Sorry i wasnt clear enough by simply asking how i can stop my engine from running. I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee, My name, my mother keeps taking it from me using my gas, ect. Shes even gone to the lengths of crashing it and me having to find out. I was just wandering what i should do by disabling the vehicle.
Get a battery disconnect (summit racing has them) and mount it under the dash... It's like a key, but for your battery.
I looked online and I couldn't find one with a removable portion like a key... But I know they used to have them, so I'm sure you can find one somewhere.

I would wire in a toggle switch to the ignition and hide it. You could wire it to the small green wire on the starter and hide the switch in the clove box or under the dash so she can't find it. I had a similar set up on my 76 firebird and it worked like a charm. it would be cheap to do maybe $15 for the switch, wire and connectors.

question about the kill switch on the ignition wire. Would the battery still send power, thus killing the battery or does this stop the battery? I dont have any people like this but I love the idea.

And you are going to protect that long run against shorting, how?
And what gauge wire do you suggest for this interesting project?

Do what we did to our trail rig. Wire the starter to a momentary switch (like the rear wiper) and the ignition wire to something you never use, like the tranny switch or somethin.

Got that backwards, starter to the tranny momentary switch and ignition to the fog light switch
