Default How to adjust my lock rods in the door?

My lock rods got bent, and I have been trying my darndest to figure out what bend to make it work properly. The closest I’ve come is when I lock the door. The lock and unlock button goes halfway, not all the way. I’ve almost decided to find new rods. If they’re out there, can somebody point me in the right direction? 2000 Jeep XJ right hand drive. Need the right front door

I noticed that with my '00, LHD, that the position of the lock itself when I put my door panels back on seems to matter whether the lock is going to be all the way one way
when locked or all the way the other way when unlocked.
And of course when putting the door panel back on with the lock rods attached to the handle it likes to move while I am doing that.
I just kind of fight with it till I get it to a point that I can live with.
Now I know that you said your rods are bent but I wonder if part of the problem could be what I experience.
