Hot wiring a 93
Hi I came across this 1993 cherokee 4x4 on Craigs. I don't know much about them mechanically yet but I know I want a straight 6 lol.

Anyways to the point, this one is a theft recovery. It has damage to the steering column and can not start. My assumption is that if a thief can get it started I can to. My guess is there's an idle wire, ignition and one for the steering lock (or maybe something by putting the key in). Idk I've never hot wired a car before so yeah. Anyways, I don't wanna buy a car without giving it a test drive first so I was wondering if anyone knew how to hotwire one of these badboy's or just any info you had on it would be much appreciated.
This car is a steal for 600 as it is if its in good mechanical shape.
Feel free to PM me if you don't want to put this info up for everyone to see.
Thanks
Chad

hot wiring a car is a crime and there for against forum rules to discuss on here. test drive or not, look for a different car. no one on here will assist you in committing a crime, sry

Hotwiring a car is not a crime. STEALING a car is a crime. You can hotwire your own car - or one that you have permission to hotwire by the owner - all you want.

You never want to "hotwire" a vehicle, it can cause major damage. Where the cylinder goes into the plastic case behind the steering wheel, there is a plastic rod that follows the column down on the backside of the cylinder. Push that rod down to start it.
