Default Hood will not latch shut, passenger side!

My 1994 XJ country's hood won't latch shut/close at all on the passenger side all of a sudden. Common problem? Any thoughts or suggestions to fixing this? I've tried pushing the latch on the inside to see if I can open it up or get it to move, and it'll only budge about a quarter of an inch back and forth.

Mmm... Rusty. Try using some pb blaster, wd 40, or equivalent. Try taking it apart and rebuilding it.

PB Blaster.. I'll try that. See if it unsticks.

If the pb blaster can unstick it great but also spray all your hinges with white lithium grease. Also spray the brackets for the hood and hatch and those latches too.
