Default Hood vent donor

I've been searching through the JY for some hood vents. I know lebarons are a good source but what years? What other cars should I look out for? Thanks

As I recall its a late 80's early 90's model. You can sometimes find them on ebay. Nisson Z series have some nice vents.

You can go cheap and use a 2" hole punch and punch 3 or 4 2" holes in line on each side of your hood and glue some screen wire on the underside to keep crud out.

Have fun. RB

you can make most any thing work as long as they are not to big or a weird shape or angle. but a lot of turbo cars have vents so look at z's or small sports cars

Hey, you might take the hood to a hotrod shop and have them punch louvers in it.
That could look cool in a rat-rod kind of way.

They let out the heat that's creating a sauna under your hood and this reduced underhood temps and let's your motor breathe some. Drive around for an hour and then open your hood, you'll see how hot it gets under there. The water and snow does not hurt the electronics. Usually we all place the vents over the engine block and there's not that much electric crap underneath.

that makes a lot of sense, have any of you used louvered vents for a boat? the marine industry used vents all the time (no radiators). if you are looking for flush mount or recessed vents i would check west marine...

yeah i got the vents from west marine. Using boat vents makes sense since this rig is gonna see alot of water and mud. kinda fits the boat theme

ya these are cool. one question though, why didn't you paint the screw heads black? that'd be real clean...

i ask myself that every time i look at them. I haven't come up with an answer yet.

The bolts originally started to turn brown and corrode just after a few days so I replaced the screws with new ones and it's been fine since. I kinda like the bolt-on look although it would still look good painted black too.
