I need a new hood for my 2000 xj and cannot find one from 97-2001 in flame red in any of the local junkyards.

I did however find one from a 84-96, maybe early 90's that is my color but I am not sure if it will fit.

I know Jeep changed the headlights and grill etc... but at first glance the hood looks the same. Anyone know if the older hood will fit ?

Quadratec lists them as different but it could be something like the hinges or hood latch that you may be able to swap over.

 

I took the hood off my 95 and used it on my 99. I took hood latch release and hinges off the 99 hood and used it on the 95 hood and it works fine.

 

AFAIK just the latch is different.

 

look at my build thread thats a '94 hood i through on my '98 i even used the latches as my jeep was pickled in the nose (hence the name on the build thread)

84-86 are ONLY compatible with 84-86. completely different subframe and latch assembly.

87-01 are all compatible, reguardless of engine.
