Default home auto tranny flush

this works great, today while installing a at cooler after i cut the rubber stock return line i put a clear ext. hose on it & stuck it in a clear plastic big pretzel container w/ a line marked at the 4 qt level. then dumped in 2 qts of fluid put trans in neutral & started jeep. it pumps quickly ,had time to add 1 qt while its running when its 1 " from the 4 qt line shut down the motor. dump the old fluid & repeat the process, after going thru 3 times & 12 qts of atf it went from a dirty dark red to brand new atf . then i finished the hook up to the cooler & done. dont know if this clears the fluid in the TC ? but its way better then the old drain the pan & add 4 qts method. btw i had changed the filter & pan fluid 2 wks ago when i installed new solenoids, so i knew the atf was really dirty , had no idea when the PO serviced the tranny. ive only had the jeep 3 months.

Default update on home flush

my tranny is working great ,shifts very smooth. so this method of fluid exchange is a good thing to do according to a pro mech. i spoke w/ because it basically exchanges out almost all the old fluid for new , but it just uses the trannys internal pump to push out the old atf as you add new. he said he would not recommend a power flush on a high mileage trans. where they hook up a machine which forces atf thru at high pressure , he also said if trannys were serviced at recommended times w/ a filter & fluid changes a power flush should never be needed.
