Hitch fitment
Sorry if this has been answered before, but I searched a couple of times, and found lots of good info on tow hitches for these cherokees... but couldn't come up with a specific answer to my question. Which is: I have a 90 and want to buy a hitch. Would prefer to buy used for the sake of money. Would there be any fitment issues with any other years? For instance, found a guy near me with a wrecked (in the front end) 01 with a brand new Reese hitch. could probably get it for a steal. Just don't want to buy it and have it not fit for one reason or another. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

my buddy took my factory hitch off my 89 and fit it on his 01, so it should work.
as long as they're both cherokee's, not a grand and a cherokee.

I have a 00 XJ. I pulled the hitch from a 93, and I can't get the holes to line up on mine due to the hitch frame hitting my gas tank. Not sure what's going on there (can the gas tank move that much?), but just an FYI. Might want to hold it underneath and make sure it matches up before tossing money down on the table.
