Default hinge question

ok so heres the deal. i have a 94 xj country and someone who had it before me welded the hinges on to the jeep for the two front doors. one of them has broke so i now climb in and out the window of the driver door or one of the passenger doors. so my question is what are the chances of welding hinges off a wrangler on to my jeep so i then have detachable doors? on a side note is anyone else getting 5 mpg out of there xj driving through town at stock height with stock tires and such?

5 MPG? You should get 15-ish around town, give or take a few. What's it run like?

i thought about doing that but since i have to replace two hinges with new ones anyways wouldnt it just be easier to do it with wrangler hinges instead. i know id have to put a plate on the door to make it stronger where the bolts go but thats not problem either

it shouldnt be that hard just put the wrangler hinges in the same spot and then put a plate in the door so you dont rip the sheet metal apart haha

You know you can just buy tube doors for a Cherokee don't you? no need to mod anything.
