First let me way that I agree on listening to cruiser pretty religiously.
Second, I bought a set of Goodyear wranglers with original rims from a guy who was upgrading. P235 75R15. They had about a year on them when I got them. Probably not many miles as they looked pretty new. Gave him 500 for the rims and tires. I'm going on 3 years on them, with about 80000 miles. A lot of highway driving, some dirt roads. Snow and ice in Michigan, as well as whatever rain falls. I'm crazy happy with them and never had any issues with slipping or sliding. And... for road tires, they don't look too bad.

I'm getting ready to replace the Kumho AT61's on my Blazer. Bought them 2 months after I put General Grabber AT2's on my XJ. The Kumho's are wore out and were never much in snow packed or loose and shallow mud. I'm going into my 4th winter on the Generals. They've done everything I'd expect short of a dedicated mud tire. Looking at them or Cooper AT3's for the Blazer.
That said the OP was willing to do ANYTHING to increase gas mileage. So I'll stick to my original post. OEM size in an all season tire. Good friend has General Grabber HTS tires on a Silverado p/u and does fine even on the 1/2 mile unimproved road to his home in all kinds of weather.

The 61's are an AT tire but are definitely a compromise. I got them because the Blazer is our DD and long distance travel vehicle. They've not done what I needed in that there were times we had to let it sit because we couldn't get it out to the main road. Do some searches on opinions of the General Grabber AT2. I got them mainly because the were being compared to the original BFG AT but were cheaper. I've had the BFG's and felt they were the best AT I've used. These Generals have been every bit as good.

Oh cruiser. Just to share i had a really good jeep fail. I very smoothely hit a curb making a u-turn. The curb smashing broke the zip ties holding my cooling fan on. The fan then fell over and butted up into the power steering pulley. This shoved the serpenderp belt back 2 teeth and shredded it. The power steering reservoir cracked right at the top so thankfully a soldering iron melting the plastic shut fixed that. And then the shredded belt slashed through a transmission line. Heheh. All that because i forgot about my temporary fix. It is now properly bolted in and running again. Still cant get any of my gauges to read properly though. One gremlin i dont think i have energy to care about anymore.
Good looking jeep what size tire is that? Is there any lift or do you just have the fender flare off?
That Kumho has a good looking tread that should work. Tire Rack shows good stats for it on their research and review chart to. But at less than 250,000 miles reported I'm not convinced. I'll see how the Kumhos are doing when my XJ's Generals need replaced. Til then I'll go with the Generals on our Blazer.
