Default High steer kit???

So I have a 99 cherokee with a 6.5" skyjacker lift and 2" spacers for a total lift of 8.5 inches. I am running 33" BFG mud terrians that are worn but still drivable. My shocks are okay, as are brakes and rotors. With in the last 4-6 months I have the dreaded death wobble. If is to the point now that if I hit a bump/pothole at even 25 mph I have to slow down, or pull over to completely stop to get it under control. I have the dirty 30 up front, and my sway bars are hooked up. I put in the spacers about a yr ago, and only now has it started to act up .
The only thing I can think is that I need a high steer kit now to be able to fix it.
Could it be that maybe I need new coils as well??? I am at a lost.

First off dirty 30s are axles for toyotas but I know what you ment. Why so much lift for 33s. Back on subject, the tires might be the problem but if you want high steer you have a few choices. WJ passenger side knuckle which requires a bit of mod, teraflex system or a custom built system. I currently run 3/4 heims instead of tie rod ends and they work great but I don't know if I'd run them on a DD. The JCR OTK is another option but you can build the same thing with Chevy 1 ton ends for less than half the price.

The first thing to check would be all the bushings in the front end and your tires for uneven wear/balance. Then check the caster with that amount of lift it could easily be causing your DW. Also do you have a steering box brace? If not check steering box mount bolts to see if the holes in the frame are wallowed out. Also check to make sure your drag link and tie rode aren't bent.

I am currently sitting at 7.5", well closer to 8" really so I would like to make some suggestions here for you. First off, are you running short arms? If so, going with an additional 2" spacer may seem like a good idea but with short arms it will more than likely give you positive castor. That is something that happens to almost everybody that uses them. They are cheap, but you end up needing different top and bottom links unless you are running long arms, which I would advise with that much lift. Even if you are running long arms, check that castor. An angle of 6 - 8° can prevent death wobble even with some loose bushings.

Now with that being said, at 8.5" of lift you are likely exceeding the angle that your tie rod ends can accommodate. I know that mine were and in fact Rubicon Express also recommends a high steer at 7.5" on their kits. You have some options here. The cheapest is to get WJ knuckles and do a little work and end up with upgraded brakes in the process. There are numerous threads on different forums for this. You can also get a Tereflex high steer, which is essentially about the same thing that uses 92 and up knuckle on the driver side and gives you some awesome looking tie rods and huge ends and also allows you to flip the tie rod. Lastly, of the good ones is Rieder Racing knuckles with high steer arms that are very beefy and give you the option of going to free wheeling hubs and spindles which are so much stronger. Another option, which I am not fond of is to use a 2" drop pitman arm and track bar mount and then flip the tie rod to the top of the steering arm.
