The H.O. intakes are for the 91 and up XJs. 87-90 have the Renix system. The H.O. head will bolt up to the Renix head and you can even get them running, but it will not perform well. The ports are different on the Renix and H.O. heads and intake manifolds and they do not flow well when mismatched. The performance and fuel mileage will suffer.
