Know its an old thread, but wanted to thank the people and cherokeeforum for these pearls of wisdom. Same issue, idle about 50 psi, at speed close to 80, changed sending unit, and now idle around 40 and at speed just under 60 which in my experience is normal for most non modified engines, although Hynes manual says 13psi at idle and anywhere from 37 to 75 above 1600 rpm .... way too broad a range to be useful
