High mileage Oil filters.
Why is it that I find the Fram High Mileage oil filter is not available for the '95 Jeep Cherokee with 4.0 6 cylinder? Do they really want 4.0's to die that badly?

Industry exclusive, patented time-released gel additive conditions oil through the entire change cycle. Gel additives help balance oil PH and helps neutralize acids and helps slows down viscosity increase. Ideal for older engines that are more susceptible to oil break-down. Uses cellulose and synthetic glass blended media to provide 3X MORE engine protection than the average of leading economy oil filters.
IMHO, this is a marketing play. Just use a good quality filter (I use Purolator Pure One), a good quality oil of the correct viscosity for your environment, change it at a reasonable interval, and skip the bill of goods they are trying to sell you here. I spent 23 years working in Test Engineering for Honeywell, the parent company of Fram.

"cellulose and synthetic glass"
That's going to be sawdust and the same stuff they poured into the engines to kill them forever during the cash for clunkers program.
Hmmmmm.

.......not talking about Wix or Mopar either....huge difference. Just telling the OP what we use, with good results, at a good price, available everywhere and suggesting that he beware or possible (hype).

I put the Mobil 1 equivalent to FL1-A size on at the last change. It is likely double the capacity of the spec M1 filter (longer and larger diameter) and twice as long as the one installed at my last change at the garage. Its a close fit under and behind the oil pressure sending unit, but it fits.
