Default High Idle Speed

On my 99 cherokee I replaced the spark plugs, ignition wire, distributor cap, and rotor and now it has a high idle speed of 1700 rpm. I check and made sure there are no loose lines or fittings and it is the correct firing order. I also checked the throttle linkage and it seems to be okay.

Any Ideas of would cause this.

So, no high idle prior to the tune-up?

You may have knocked a vacuum line off someplace. A high idle is a sign of a vacuum leak.

I agree that a vacuum leak is the primary suspect here. Now to find it. Good luck!
