high idle mod

Default high idle mod

hi guys, i have a 97 xj with 4 l 6 il.
i did the high idle mod, but it aint working. so i did some testing to see if my connectiobs were ok and so on. and everything is ok.
i then looked at the numbers on the ecu, and it is a bit different from that in tge picture in the write up.
my question is so , have anyone a clue why it wont work on mine ? i do live denmark, dont know ifthat matters. any input is appreciated

What is the high idle mod? Do you mean adjusting the throttle valve cable?

Make sure you have a proper ground. I just spliced my cigar lighter's ground.

high idle mod is making a wire connecting pin 12 in the black connector to ground. this should raise the idle to 1000 rpm. giving higher amp output and better cooling . thus us ofcourse nade over a switch.

the ground is perfect 0.1 ohm to the battery

Maybe the wiring is different on yours than the write up? Im not familiar with this mod but it interests me, could you post the link to the write up you followed? Might help figure out your problem too...

Does the emissions sticker under the hood state:
OBD2
or
EOBD2
?

Could be entirely different.
