Did you remove the throttle body during the install? If so you may have a leak in the TB gasket. Scrape off the old one and buy a new one for a couple bucks at the local part store.

Didn't remove the TB. Simply unbolted the old TPS and replaced it with a new one. Started it up and it idles around 1200.

With it running, mess with the wire leads on it. See if pushing them in a bit changes anything..

I did that when I first put it in. I jiggled the connection and the back of the TPS came out and the spring and everything inside came out...seems like it wasn't glued on or someone had tampered with it and returned it. I returned it to NAPA and got a new one. Going to put it in right now...

Well, turns out the NAPA TPS was junk right out of the box. Picked one up from O'reilly...both appear to be made by the same company as they are identical, just in different boxes. Installed the O'reilly one and she runs just fine now...thanks for your help
