I have been reading through old threads and have not found one that mentions my problem.
I have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0L
My Passenger side headlight burned out so i changed it with a new one, but my high beam don't work on it.
I thought it might be defective so i bought a different headlight amp and still doesn't work. The Low beam is dim.
The drivers side high & low beams work, and work normal.
How do i fix this?

This evening I looked at the wiring diagrams for my head lights ( '94 Cherokee) because the r/h head light is a bit dim. The diagram doesn't show any grounds up front, like what I'm used to, like GM stuff. However, it does show a high-beam relay, which may supply the ground as well as the power. Don't know yet...still looking..
OK.....
There is a relay in the power distribution center labeled "headlamp system "' a 40 amp relay....
On mine it's in the bottom row, 5th one from the right end....
Not sure if this helps you with w 1999 though (?)

No headlight relay I know of unless it's aftermarket. If there were the headlight switch probably wouldn't fail on such a regular basis.
The only relays in the factory system control the fog lamps. High/low beams flow from the switch through the dimmer to the bulbs. If one side is dim it's the wiring, connectors or ground.

I noticed the relay in the wiring diagram, they listed it as head light relay. I didn't run the wires down to see where they went.
Maybe I'll scan that page & post it, and you guys can figure it out....
Jeep has a weird wiring system for the lights....

Did you get the light to work yet ??
There is a ground on the left inner fender well, behind the power train control module. That may be why a lamp is dim (?) if the ground needs help.
The light switch powers both sides together, according to the schematic, so if one is not lit, it's possibly the orange, or the white wire on the lamp socket, that goes into a 10 pin connector which appears to be down behind the left side of the radiator area. Cleaning that connector may help also (?)
