Good day, so my flash to pass won’t work, I can switch from high beam to low beam but I have to apply some force to actually get it to switch between the two modes.

So I’m thinking it is the column mounted switch that’s giving me the issue.

did anyone have a similar problem?

 

It sounds like it

You may have to take the part out, examine an attempt to clean it

I have taken one out, on a '96 you need security Torx bits to get the arm off, and ordinary torx that are long and thin, like allen key, to get up into some others under the steering wheel nacelle,

I have spares of this unit for my XJ and other vehicles, as it has so many functions, failure will put you off the road

 

The flash-to-pass is on a different fuse than the headlights. Check fuse #4, should be a blue 15-amp.

 

Found the problem.
The female connector in the fuse box was coming loose so the fuse wasn't inserted properly. So I pushed in the female connector properly and now it's working.
