HID Question
So i just wanna get some input before i buy these items. I have a few questions. First, will this hid kit plug right in to my factory harness or is there something extra i'll have to do? Also where have you guys with hids mounted your ballasts at? And lastly, am i look at the right headlights to do the conversion? Please check out the links and let me know if you think everything will work out for me.

The sealed beam conversion to H4 bulbs is a great idea but the housings you chose should only be used for halogen bulbs. HID's need to shine from more of a fisheye lens, otherwise you'll have annoying (and usually even illegal) beam scattering. The only genuine ones that I've found that fit our XJ's are here: www.norcalmr2.com. Scroll to the bottom of the page, you'll need the "Pegasus H7 Conversion." Now, with H7 bulbs, and as well as with the HID kit you chose, you'll lose your high beams. HID's are bright enough that you reportedly don't need them but I drive on mountain roads with plenty of deer I prefer to see. To retain the Hi/Low beam, you'll need a kit which, on Ebay, usually is called "Hi/Low" or "Bi-Xenon." Those will either have an electromagnetic actuator that moves the bulb forward or backward for hi/low or a second HID bulb next to the first. The latter is less desireable because flashing HID's significantly reduces bulb life. I've done HID conversions to headlights, fog lights, and offroad lights and spent mucho dinero trying to get the right combination. The challenge is getting a rectangular reflective housing that's suitable for HID. Here's some telescoping HID's, probably your best bet http://cgi.ebay.com/H4-9003-HB2-5000...item1c0e406bd0.

aren't the pegasus ones a little long for the cherokee? i think i remember seeing someone install them on a cherokee and had to use spacers or longer screws? i am interested in getting better lighting also but i know i need to get the right reflectors.

Yes, you'll need longer screws because the housing is deeper than the stock headlights. I considered cutting the firewall but as someone else mentioned on here, it is right on the other side of the hood latch so cutting to fit wasn't an option. You'll only need slightly longer screws and the difference isn't that noticeable once they're installed.
