lol jk.. Im not sure about xj dizzys but there is an igniter in most dizzys. you might have ruined that. You should see if you can barrow a friends and see if you get spark then. The igniter cost a lot itself so you might have to get a whole new dizzy. <-- btw i mean distributor.. old car talk not sure if you would have understood.

The igniter cost a lot itself so you might have to get a whole new dizzy. <-- btw i mean distributor.. old car talk not sure if you would have understood.I suggest unplugging every connection in the engine bay you can find, spraying it out with a good electronics cleaner, visually inspecting the terminals, and adding dielectric grease before plugging it back together.
All of the relays should be removed, the terminals wire-brushed until shiny, and the receptacles sprayed out with contact cleaner. Then dielectric grease should be added before plugging them back in. I do this on every Renix era Jeep I purchase or work on for someone else.
You said you think the fuel pump is not working.. I would start by turning the key to ON position and see if you can hear the short hiss of the pump. Also have your friend crank the motor over and YOU look at the plug so you can confirm if its sparking or not.
