Default hesitation

recently my 99 xj started to hesitate under partial throttle. i swapped the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. the plugs were pretty bad and most were improperly gapped and the cap and rotor both had MINIMAL corrosion. the problem all but dissapeared but the next day it acted like it was about tro stall at the stop sign. i am assuming the since air and spark are good, the fuel is the one remaining factor to check before going thru and changing sensors, etc. SO... today we are going to check the fuel pump and make sure its giving 100%. suggestions?????

ALSO... recently, the airbag light has been coming on periodiclly for about 10-15 sec. and, if i bump the emergency flasher switch, the blinkers do not work. this, along with the fan switch only working on #4, and the master door switch faulty leads me to believe that ther might be some underlying electrical issue that is causing a computer or sensor to read funny. at its worst the hesitation was accompanied by a backfire or two... ok that all i got...

the filter is a new, aftermarket purchase, its clean... another thought is that this has only happened when it has been very rainy and ive been driving for a while. by the way, thanks for your time!!

I had a 1992 Toyota SR5 that would misfire when it was super humid/rainy.

Never figured the issue out, but just before I sold it I found out it had a small leak in the head gasket.

Dunno if there was any correlation, but its worth mentioning I guess.

someone once told my after running a diagnostics that i have a very small leak in a line, hose, something, somewhere..... that would be harder to find than was worth looking. would a compression test be worth it?

Yeah, if you need to seafoam the TB you gotta do it seperate. The gas won't ever hit the TB, the injectors are further down the intake plenum.

You don't need to use Seafoam on the throttle body. Grab a can of carb and choke cleaner and some shop towels and get busy. Pay particular attention to the air passage for the IAC and the map sensor.
