hesitation 4.0L
hi i just bought a 1991 cherokee the truck has some problems but one of the more annoying ones is the hesitation when i take off the guy said that it was mainly because of low fuel and a fuel pump thats going out when i turn the key to the run circuit i can hear the pump buzzing. and when its running i put it in gear then hit the gas it will bog down but pick after i back out of it then hit the gas again and it will accelerate like well a 4.0L auto jeep. ive heard that the coil tends to go bad, and think that might be it

It could be the fuel pump this can be checked easily. Since you just bought it I would start with a basic tune up. This can eliminate alot of factors. The coil could also cause this problem, but if this were true would also show hesitaton through out the throttle range not just at take off. Start with a tune up and you will know what you got.
