Hesitation at 1250 RPM, hard start, backfiring
Hi guys! To start here are the specs on my jeep. Jeep Cherokee 1995 4.0L, 225,000 miles. I just recently did the timing chain on my jeep as i suspected it jumped a tooth (it did not, but there was an insane amount of play). The issue leading up was rough start/poor idle. From time to time it would also hesitate around 1250 rpm. After getting fed up I re-did my distributors installation, replaced my timing chain and now Im faced with the current issue of it not wanting to start then once I give it some gas it starts. Once I rev the engine above 3000rpm the hesitation begins after a loud misfire. I have checked fuel pressure which is hovering around 41-45 constantly. This is weird because before the jeep sat for a few weeks it was around 20-30 psi. I have also replaced all the plugs, wires, cps, rotor, IAC. This seems to be an issue of to much fuel entering the cylinder's though I also have new refurbished injectors in the car. Lastly I have also checked the TPS sensor which is in spec at closed throttle being .3V then WOT at 3.8V. I have a new pump for the XJ but would like to make sure its the right thing to do before wasting the $60 on the pump. Thanks!
