Here's my Plan
here's my plan for my XJ any pro's or cons or suggestions would be gladly taken
4.5-5 inches of lift using a adjustable Lower Control Arm
Drop brackets
lift coils from either a early bronco or maybe Ebay
SYE if I can figure out a cheap one maybe my own version of the hack and tap
Dana 30
4.10 gears
Arb front with warn hub kit
Rear 8.8 with Lock right and disks
Custom bumpers and roof rack
winch
quarter armor with maybe a tube flare
same on front fenders
33 MTR's
cut out rockers replace with 2x6 steel tubing
on board air using either the exsisting A/C pump or my ARB compressor

I installed the 4.10's and the ARB already and the rear 8.8 with 4.10 is in my bronco II so yep both gears sets are already in just the 8.8 isnt in the XJ yet and wont be for some time as I have floor repair to do first
Actually, 4.3X is the correct ratio for having stock engine:tire size ratio. People go with 4.56 because it's better to not regear once to 4.10 and then again to 4.56. But 4.10's and 33's will be pretty much perfect, especially since you already have the gear(I assume they came stock in the 8.8)
The rest of the specs look good, but you're going to want adjustable upper and lower control arms, that's quite a bit of lift on stock uppers.

I may make the upper adjustable as well the 4.10's are not stock but I run a Bronco II with a 302V8 C4/C5 hybrid 3 speed auto with a modified BW1354 transfer case and I am running on my 3rd set of 4.10's in the 8.8 its out of a lincon mark IV with disks and a lockright I am actually reusing alot of stuff from the bronco into the XJ

Why did you say if he did not have an auto trans (as in a manual) then he should go for 4.56? Also, what stock axle do you have you dont need much to run 33s. Unless you just got that 8.8 sitting around guess you mine as well use it...
if you don't want to mess with s SYE then just get a 1" t-case drop bracket instead. i know someone that ran 9.5" of lift with one and no vibes. but yea either get new UCA's or a long arm setup. other than that it sounds good.
the 8.8 isnt really just sitting around its under my bronco that I am driving everyday everything I have heard or seen says to ditch the 35 in favour of the 8.8
well I figure I should update this
well it has TJ flares
the 8.8 is in with 4.10's and a detriot locker
the lift is all done
I had to use a 1" TC drop so the drive shaft wont bind
I retro fitted my front bumper of my Bronco II

here's the flares

so tell me what you all think
