Here we go Again
Ok 2 years ago I traded for my XJ, When I got it, it had 2 wholes in the transfercase and the chain was demolished. A friend of mine had a 231D from a dodge truck. I found out that it wouldn't just go right in(found this out before being a member here). So i made a funky hybride used all the good working parts from both and has worked awesome for 2 years now.
Ok enough history. Yesterday it was raining hard, I was on the uphill side of a hill at a stop light. Steped on the gas and all I heard was a rattleing noise. It to me putting it in 4wd to get it to go. Got home couldn't recreate but this morning I got in heard the rattleing noise and it started stalling when I steped on the gas. Anyone have a similar experience?
Could it be the TCase?
If not what else could have caused it?

Yeah check what Turbo X_J suggests. I'd kinda be wondering if you ran out of fluid or something and the main shaft isn't so hot anymore. Does it stall in 4H too?
