Always go with the lowest 1st number......0WXX or 5WXX.

I run 5w-30 in the winter, and 10w-30 in the summer. My FSM recommends 10w for ambient temps of 100 degrees

Just stick with any 5w30 conventional oil (i use Pennzoil yellow bottle) with a good filter. If you want heavy duty oil go with rotella 5w40.

^ beat me to it.

It's your vehicle so I don't blame you one bit for wanting to do what's best for it. Truth is you are "reading too much in to it". Any decent brand oil of the right weight(here I won't be swayed by what djb383 posted) changed at sensible intervals when run through a high quality filter will serve you well.

Let's remember we're talking about a 4.0, honestly you could probably put ANY kind of oil in it and it would still run decent (for awhile)

FSM is fact. All else is opinion. Unless someone has data to backup their claim I don't want to hear it. The 4.0 has exceeded 300k miles with every know brand of oil out there.

I'd change the Oil ASAP, Lucus is garbage, the filter is ok (looks like Casite is a cheap version of Hastings) but nothing special.

For Oil Rotella T6 is a great option, but just about any 5/10w30/40 will do, higher-zinc content oils (like Rotella and other diesel oils) are recommended for flat-tappet engines like the 4.0L I6.

Make sure to use a good filter (Wix/Napa, Purolator, Hastings, Mann, Bosch, Mobil 1, Baldwin, etc.).

You can also use an "oversized filter" (for the Ford 302/351w) which will increase oil-capacity and filter area. Numbers as follows: Motorcraft FL-1A, WIX 51515/Napa 1515, Purolator L/PL30001, Baldwin B2, Bosch 3500, Hastings LF115, etc.
