They're basically the same lift except for a few factors...

RC lift has everything you'll need, I'm pretty sure.

RE lift will net you at about 4-4.25" from what I've heard. Also it's more expensive and you'll need new shocks as they aren't included like the RC kits are.

post the parts list for both

if they both have adjustable control arms
mods for the rear drive shaft(SYE) will be the same for both lift kits

a lot of people like the rc for the price and they have pretty much every thing you need in the kit the r.e. have the same amount of stuff but the price is a bit more. i will say that every body that i have seen with the r.e kit have ended up with almost 4.5 inches of lift i think it is set up for somebody with bumpers and spare and what not so they give a little more lit to compensate

I want this to look good on my jeep with out having to do any major mods. I want to run BFG AT 31/10.5/R15 tires. But want to stay away from a SYE. Since the RE lift runs big i think with the RC lift i can just get away with doing a t-case drop. Any input would be great in my decision process thanks guys

Well I just finished my 3" RC lift. It was pretty easy and straight forward, although I bought the cheaper lift w/ AAL and built a bastard pack for the rear. Ended up with 4.5" in the back so decided to raise the front too. Right now I am sitting on the 3" springs up front with a second isolator for 3.75" or so but will be adding another 1/2" spacer tonight.
I will take some pics and post them tonight. I really like the lift but wish I would have gotten the 9000 series shocks instead of the 8000s, they ride rough but I can deal with it. Need to remove my carpet and bedliner the interior though as the bumpy ride keeps spilling my morning coffee. ;-) Of course I need to do that anyway because I have a few holes in the passenger side floorpan that need filled.

Will do, I have been meaning to put up some pictures of the XJ for a few weeks now but keep forgetting to get my camera out of the other Jeep. My wife takes it to work most nights...

Well keep in mind when you see my pics that this isn't a "stock" RC lift- although for the price I could not be happier. I got the Dakota leaves for $40 from the local JY and the second set of isolators for $10 from Craigslist. My new 1/2" spacers to help level it off were free (scrap steel from work).

I like that the RE comes with Sway Bar Links and not drop brackets like on the RC. Also the RE has new U-bolts and brake lines. But the RC coming with shocks sounds appealing... so long story short, the RE looks like a better kit (this is the one I have sitting in my garage) but will require you to purchase shocks adding to the initial cost of the lift. Less work = RC. Hope that helps.

that was helpful i dont mind spending more for the RE its just no one seems to be able to answer my question if i can get away with just a transfer case drop im not gonna be doing any major offroading. Basically the fact that im going to need a adjustable trac arm and a SYE are my deciding factors i jsut dont have the money for them

If you need to do TC drop or SYE will vary from vehicle to vehicle. Mine rides at 4 3/4" in the back (after I removed the 100-150 lbs of tools I had back there) and I have no vibration or issues at speeds up to 75MPH. 75 is as fast as I have gone so far... I do have a sharper angle than I would like so am going to drop the TC 1/2" to 1". Eventually I will do a SYE but TC drop will do for now (steel is free for me so some spacers will only cost me time and some new bolts). I just have to wait until some square tubing of the right size hits the scrap metal bin...

Adjustable trac arm may be needed too- I am going to redrill my trac bar mounting hole once I have the height I am staying at for a while. Again, an adjustable trac bar is better but not in my "budget"- I ordered new speakers for my XJ (as only one factory speaker still worked) so I am now at $1250 total into my Jeep.
