Question HELP... XJ rear bumper mounted Spare tire issue with backspacing.

Hi there,
So I finally get my 5th Cragar rim and with the Help of a friend who mounted my BFG on the new rim.

I decided to mount it on the truck.
my current 33" spare is a traditional steel jeep wheel and the cragar backspacing looks funny to me.
It makes it stick out.

any opinions on how to correct this?
or is it needed?

I just thought it looked bad and took it back off and put my old spare back on until I can figure out how to change it.

here are some pics to help understand

Old tire;

new tire;

its held on by this bracket, I am wondering if I could purchase one just like mine but shorter somewhere?

If not I think I would have to Make one, or cut and Mod this one...

any help or tips would be greatly appretiated.

ok so what would be the best way to do that?

Cut a section of the bottom out or cut the top off and re-weld a new peice.

pretty much this is what I need it to be.

(crude drawing)

I need to shorten it by 3 inches or around there

Are you sure you got the right wheel?You need to measure the back spaceing on the new one.

well my spare (the Super Swamper) was not the same as my others. (Others are Cragar wheels with BFG Mud terrains)
so yeah I finally got the right wheel for my spare tire so I can have a full matching spare.

and I just didnt like the way it looked on the back . lol
as compared to the other one with the wrong offset for my jeep.
so yeah its offset if whats causeing my issue and dislike. lol

I think I got it all sorted now.
I will hopefully be cutting it all up soon haha.

thanks

Default BS ?

Back spacing question, What is the back spacing on the old VS. the new wheels? Does it make a diffrence on your XJ? Rubbing?
