Help xj head issues
So three head gaskets later and a new head I still have white smoke coming out the exhaust and coolant, Ive done everthing to spec including tightening the bolts in the correct pattern and torque sequence and the front bolt I put sealant on, I just don't under stand why its leaking still?????????????????? no coolant mixing with the oil either and all the cylinders look fine.
this was the first two head gaskets https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b...d+Gasket&pos=1
and the last one https://www.oreillyauto.com/detail/b...d+Gasket&pos=0
And this is the new head https://www.summitracing.com/parts/p...640n/overview/

Did you have the head checked at a shop to see if it is cracked maybe around the valve seats ? I just got a tupy head off a 2004 grand cherokee at a pick a part and it cost me less then $100 .

How about a cracked cylinder? It would seem to have to be at the top.
What were the circumstances surrounding the head replacement? Did it overhead? Run out of antifreeze?
Could borrow a pressure testing kit and buy a USB camera. Out of pocket about 11 bucks. Pump it up to about 35 pounds (or approximately one pound before any hoses blow). Pull off the manifolds again and watch there. Rotate crank to look at cylinder walls.
Did you check the new cylinder head and the block for flatness?
The maximum warpage for the block is 0.002 in. per 6 inches or 0.008 inches overall.
The head is 0.002 in. per 6 inches.
